The Grill of Steel

During my residency at Recology I re-appropriated discarded consumer appliances and gadgets to make my own  versions of American cultural iconography. During the re-traditioning process my aim is to celebrate our unique relationship to garbage, consumer products, the culture of waste, and  the American spirit of invention.
